Once the domain of the land-based casino industry, online gaming operators have upped their game in recent years and are now offering player incentives as lucrative as anything out there in the land-based space.
While the appeal of land-based versus online remains very much an individual preference for each individual – some people revel in the buzz of playing at a live gaming table while others prefer the quiet comfort of their own home – there is no doubt the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted how acquisition opportunities differ between the segments.
Land-based casinos have traditionally enticed players with a variety of comps, from basic player loyalty rewards such as casino dollars to free meals, free accommodation, show tickets and even free flights for their better customers.
