New Zealand iGaming rules and regulations
Gambling is one of the biggest and most profitable industries in the world. Global gambling market is projected to reach US$876 billion by 2026. There are many different iGaming operators from different countries. Each jurisdiction has its own regulations and laws. SkyCity Entertainment Group owns four casinos in New Zealand. Christchurch Casino started operations in 1994 and Grand Casino Dunedin in 1999. The first casino to open in the Oceana country was ChristChurch Casino, which was constructed in 1883.

The New Zealand Lottery Commission (NZ Lotteries) has been conducting online lottery sales since May 26, 2008. The government-owned entity is the only New Zealander-licensed provider of online casinos and gambling sites. TAB is also allowed to provide online betting via www.tab.co.nz.
Gambling in New Zealand is still considered an enjoyable pastime. All winnings from online casinos and sports betting via sportsbooks are not taxed. Professional poker players' winings are subject to tax only if poker is their only or predominant source of income.
New Zealand allows online casinos and sportsbooks. The Gambling activities that are not within the authority of the G gambling Act 2003 are still prohibited. New Zealanders are free to join online gambling and casino sites provided by operators/companies based in other countries.
