Have you ever heard of New Super Mario Bros. Wii Coin World? I’m guessing not. The Japanese-only arcade title operated similar to pachinko, a form of gambling in Japan where you exchange money for tokens and then spend those tokens on those games to win more tokens (which you can trade back for money). The 2011 Nintendo/Capcom joint featured four-player co-op and a focus on slots and minigames. So why are we bringing a long-defunct and obscure gambling device from over a decade ago? Its music has been dumped online, and it’s full of bops.

That’s right, whoever worked on the slate of tracks for this niche gambling product ten years ago put their whole effort into it. While largely rearrangements of existing tracks, this sounds better than most music from the actual New Super Mario Bros. series to me, and all for this title? Is Japan hiding other bangers in pachinko soundtracks?
