The Madera casino project will cost between $350M-$450M. It will be built on 305 acres adjacent to the highway between Avenue 17 and Avenue 18 in Madero county. The project was approved by the federal government and the governor in 2011. A 2011 lawsuit filed by another tribe derailed the project of the North Folk tribe.
New Madera Casino Project to Break Ground Next month. State Supreme Court approved the project last year. There are currently three gaming properties within short drives of Madara. The new Madero casino project would be beneficial to the economy and would give the other casinos good competition.
