LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority approved plans to pay for shuttle services to help transport hotel and casino employees when Formula 1 takes over the Las Vegas Strip next month.

Buses will pick up and drop off employees from several satellite locations.

"We need to make sure that we have the most efficient way to move people in and out of the interior of the circuit," said LVCVA CEO Steve Hill. "Particularly during those hours when the circuit is closed. And buses are obviously the best way to do that."

He added, "You're going to get 50 people on a bus instead of one or two or four people in a car. It just makes the limited access to the inside of the circuit the most efficient possible."

Additionally, 4,300 parking spaces at the Convention Center will be available for hotel and casino workers to park. The Las Vegas Monorail, which the LVCVA owns and operates, will also be used to transport employees.
