Lucky punter wins massive prize in Wednesday's Lotto as players urged to check tickets

A LUCKY punter is celebrating after scooping €38,420 in last night’s Lotto draw.
The ticket was purchased on the day of the draw online at www.lottery.ie.
The winning numbers for the May 11 draw were: 11, 14, 17, 25, 37, 43 and the bonus was 34.
The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification to the user’s online account and a separate email has now been sent to the lucky Dublin ticket holder.
The online winner should make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.
A Lotto spokesperson said: “It’s already been a memorable week for our Lotto players and now an online player in Dublin has become a midweek winner!
"After matching five numbers and the bonus, the online player won €38,420 in Wednesday night’s draw.
"On Monday of last week, we saw another online player in Dublin win big when they won the top prize of €500,000 in the 2nd May 9pm Daily Million Plus draw.
"The next day on Tuesday 3rd May, it was an online EuroMillions player in Kildare celebrating after matching five numbers and one lucky star to win €238,541.”
Meanwhile, Lotto bosses have revealed the lucky shop where Saturday's winning ticket worth a life-changing €8,508,720 was sold.
Celebrations are underway at Blanchfield’s Centra store on the Main Street in Mooncoin, Kilkenny.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on May 7.
The busy Kilkenny store is no stranger to big wins as this is the second Lotto jackpot ticket which the store has sold in just over two years.
In December 2019, the Mooncoin store sold a ticket worth over €6.8million.
Shop owner Michael Blanchfield, who runs the store with his wife Alice, was both shocked and delighted to hear the news.
He said: “After having a big Lotto jackpot win just over two years ago in our store, I never thought we’d have another but especially not so soon after – I am absolutely thrilled!
"This really is great news for the community as we’re a busy store so I’m sure as soon as the news goes out, there will be great excitement around the place.
"I imagine we will see lots of our customers eager to check their tickets and wondering if they’re the big winner.
"There’s a Mooncoin player out there with a ticket worth over €8.5million – let’s hope they check their numbers soon!”
