Louisiana Reports Subdued Results for Casinos in July 2022
Louisiana and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board reported $204.2 million in gross gaming revenue from river boat casinos and Harrah’s New Orleans.
Louisiana Casinos' results for July 2021 declined by 8%. Online sports betting handle generated $103.3 million. Sportsbooks generated a decent amount. Baton Rouge casinos were the worst affected with a drop of 15.7%. Lake Charles casinos did well with $78.9 million in revenue. Shreveport casinos saw a decline of 13.1% and generated only $50. 9 million of revenue in July.
New Orleans casinos took a 7.7% decline. The total revenue stood at $48.1 million for Harrah’s New Orleans, Boomtown Casino & Hotel, and Treasure Chest Casino. Riverboat casinos raked in $20 million, but the overall revenue was still a decline of 15. 7%. L”Auberge Casino Hotel generated $14.4 million. Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge contributed another $4. 4 million and Belle of Baton Rogue Casino posted $1.2 million in the results.
