Las Vegas Woman Dasha Kelly Gambles On CNN’s Gullibility, Jackpots $230K In GoFundMe Drive

Since Donald Trump rose to prominence in presidential politics, the liberal national media has taken gullibility to new heights.
Whether it’s bashing pro-life kids from a Catholic high school in Kentucky, claiming Trump conspired with Russians to get elected, promoting actor Jussie Smollett as a hate-crime victim, or, of late, assailing a Colorado Rockies fan for a racial slur he didn’t use.
And apparently having watched this, Las Vegas casino dealer Dasha Kelly played the media like a Stradivarius.
As Democrats, led by left-wing Rep. Cori Bush, pursued the continuation of a COVID-19 eviction moratorium they knew was unconstitutional, Kelly went on CNN to promote a GoFundMe account she created to raise the rent money she claimed to need after she lost her job.
On the crowd-funding site, Kelly noted that she had three daughters – ages 5,6, and 8 – and that they all were now suffering. She owed $1,900 for rent, plus utilities. “As you all know it is entirely still to (sic) hot to be homeless.”
CNN rode to the rescue.
They interviewed Kelly in her home with her children. Reporter Nick Watt called her GoFundMe plea “a Hail Mary. “She says she’s praying for a miracle, hoping for a miracle,” he said.
Bush herself prompted the cause, appearing on a second CNN segment with Kelly and tweeting, “When I say your Congresswoman loves you, this is what I mean. Kelly, I may not be your representative, but I love you and I will not stop working to make sure you and every person in our country has what they need to thrive.”
It paid off, literally.
In short order, Kelly had $230,000 in her account.
Then, the truth came out.
She’s not the mother of the girls, Kelly wrote on GoFundMe. She dates their father and has cared for them for “periods of time,” and claims they see her as a “mother figure,” while she treats them as her daughters.
CNN then added an “update” to its online story:
“After CNN aired a story about her potential eviction, Dasha Kelly clarified to CNN that she is not the mother of the three children featured in the story. CNN has verified she takes care of the children in her home for periods of time. She says she originally described herself to CNN as a mother because she considers herself to be like one to them.
CNN has learned the children are also cared for by their mother, Shadia Hilo, and their father, David Allison, who is Kelly’s boyfriend.
GoFundMe tells CNN they are in close contact with Kelly and funds will stay on hold until they verify her information. GoFundMe says no funds have been withdrawn.”
Actually, that’s not quite true. According to the account, donors have “withdrawn” over $30,000 of their contributions.
But once again we see the liberal media not letting the facts get in the way of a good left-wing narrative.
