Las Vegas Strip Adds British Royalty, Battling Robots
The Las Vegas Strip is a mecca for combat sports and celebrities. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is based in T-Mobile Arena. WWE will host Summerslam at Allegiant Stadium in 2021. The new form of fighting and a unique tribute to British royalty are coming to the Strip. It will be called Battling Robots.
BattleBots has been around since 2000 when it aired on Comedy Central. Now it has a new TV show on the Discovery network and a live show in Las Vegas. The robots are controlled by humans and they fight each other in a cage. The human handlers are actors playing the part. They're not the actual designers of the robots. BattleBox Arena is the building where “BattleBox World Championship VII” has already been taped.
“BattleBots: Destruct-A-Thon’s” opens Feb. 3 at BattleBox Arena at Caesars Entertainment Studios. Show times are 6 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with 3 p., on Saturdays and noon on Sundays. Tickets are on sale Nov. 14.
