Las Vegas Man Charged with Rape in Anaheim Hotel

A 22-year-old Las Vegas man made his first appearance in court Monday on a charge of raping an unconscious woman at a group gathering in an Anaheim hotel in March.

Hector Manuel Camacho and the alleged victim were out with a group of friends at a hotel in the 1700 block of South Clementine Street, near Disney Way, March 7 when he allegedly raped her when she was passed out about 6 a.m., according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Shane Carringer.

The victim, who is in her 20s, had a mutual friend with Camacho and the two were recently acquainted, Carringer said.

Camacho was charged Aug. 10 with one count of rape of an unconscious person, according to court records. He was not arrested on a warrant until Saturday.
