Jackpot.com lands in sixth state after New Jersey launch
Jackpot.com has expanded into its sixth US state after launching its website and app in New Jersey.
In turn, New Jersey players will now be able to purchase official state lottery tickets and collect winnings from their phone, tablet, or desktop.
The platform allows winnings of under $600 to be transferred into a user’s account immediately, while winnings above $600 will see Jackpot.com deliver the ticket to the winning player and allows them to collect the winnings themselves.
The group has the backing of a plethora of high-profile investors, including Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon, Boston Red Sox CEO and president Sam Kennedy, and NHL Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur.
The company arrives in New Jersey boasting a number of different offerings, including Powerball and Mega Millions as well as state lottery games such as Pick-3, Pick-4, and Cash 4 Life.
Jackpot.com already currently operates in Massachusetts, Arkansas, New York, Ohio, and Texas.
Carolyn Tisch Blodgett, CEO and founder of Next 3 Ventures as well as a prominent investor in Jackpot.com, shed light on how the success of last year’s New York launch played a part in the expansion into New Kersey.
She said: “We saw how successful last summer’s New York launch was for Jackpot.com and we knew we wanted to be a part of bringing the fun and accessibility of online lottery to New Jersey.
“We are happy to be a part of Jackpot.com’s continued growth in the tri-state area, investing in an intuitive, easy-to-use method that is sure to be enjoyed by New Jersey consumers.”
The move into the New Jersey lottery market could prove fruitful for the group, with the Garden State recording lottery sales of a record $3.7bn during the 2023.
Jackpot.com CEO and co-founder Akshay Khanna said: “We’re thrilled to announce Jackpot.com’s New Jersey launch, the sixth state that will feature our unique service.
“We are excited to help New Jerseyans play the lottery online with increased convenience, security, and safety.
“At Jackpot.com, we’re always looking to enhance the player experience through increased accessibility and a more convenient and secure environment for players to purchase tickets, while also ensuring players never lose a winning ticket ever again,” he added.
Within New Jersey, Jackpot.com will now face off against Jackpocket, the lottery courier app that was acquired by DraftKings in February of this year for $750m.
