Intervision Gaming and Game Media Works celebrated 20 years in the industry with private event in Las Vegas
Intervision Gaming and Game Media Works (GMW) celebrated their 20th anniversary in Las Vegas on Monday. The companies offer slot machines globally and slot machines for the US market (Class 2 and 3 games), as well as distribute the same games online, producing a title per week, with over 200 games in their library.
Held against the backdrop of this year's Global Gaming Expo (G2E) edition (October 9 - 12), where the companies are presenting their latest offerings, Intervision and GMW held a private event for friends and clients at the Stoneys Saloon from 8 pm.
The theme this year was 'Ladies in Red and Men in Black,' with brothers Peter and Dimitri Palexas, owners of Intervision and GMW, having promised an event 'full of surprises and well-known Vegas acts' last week. At the meeting, the companies also displayed some of their latest products.
"This is the second time we are hosting a private event for our guests at the famous Stoneys Saloon just off the Vegas Strip. The party started at 8 pm and ended at 3 am," said Dimitri Palexas. "The evening was filled with excitement and the reunion of many old and new friends. We included multiple acts and shows as well as a well-known local singer to keep our guests entertained."
At the meeting, Intervision displayed their latest cabinet, the S4+, an update from the S4 model cabinet, which consists of 3 by 27" monitors. The S4+ now has 3 by 32" monitors with a sleek black glitter effect look.
"Our latest platform, which is used across all our cabinets, can load up to 50 games per machine or as we have seen, some markets prefer an individual game per cabinet," explained Dimitri. "This platform is quite unique as it allows us to offer multiple progressive jackpots per cabinet, basically meaning we can have 5 games on 1 link, 20 on a different progressive-themed jackpot, and so on. We have loaded up to 5 different progressives in the same terminal and then linked to multiple terminals in a casino."
The S8 Curved, which Intervision considers their Premium machine, was also displayed at the event. The product has now been given a 'sports car feel' adding a carbon fiber look to the cabinet. These games Link to 17 more titles.
The S8 and S4+ will be released in early 2024. Additionally, some of the companies' latest products that are available in the US for Class 2 and 3 gaming were also part of the display at the anniversary event.
20 years in the industry
Ahead of the meeting, the Palexas brothers expressed their excitement for the anniversary, recalling the history of the company. 'We are very proud that our development and slot machine companies have reached this symbolic 20-year mark. We began developing slot games out of necessity as we had opened our first casino in Miraflores, Peru (Casino Mardigras, which is still operating today, 23 years later) in the year 2000,' said Dimitri last week.
'All our profits were constantly spent on buying slot machines to be able to compete. In those days, participation was not available in Peru and financing was limited. By 2003 we began developing our own games in order to make our business more profitable.'
Intervision Gaming is focused on distributing slot machines globally, although it still refers to itself as a 'boutique' company. The business is entering new markets as it grows, while GMW manages the software development for both companies. At the moment, the companies have over 100 developers working in Peru and other countries.
GMW also offers online the same slot games that were developed for brick-and-mortar casinos. With a game released every week, the company has developed over 200 online titles.
