Illinois Shatters State Gambling Revenue Record for the Fiscal Year
Illinois General Assembly's Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability released a report on gambling revenues collected by the state for the fiscal year at $1.9 billion. This was an increase of 35.7% on the previous record which was set back in the 2019 fiscalyear.
Lottery sales accounted for the lion's share of state gambling revenues collected from July 2021 to June 2022. This marks a near 6% increase on the previous year’s total. The ‘iLotteries platform” accounted by 64% for almost $279 million in sales.
Keith Horton, general manager of Camelot Illinois, the state's lottery contractor, said the increase is due to increased revenue.

Illinois set a new state gambling revenue record for the fiscal year. Video gambling generated $762 million for Illinois. This was an increase of 52% on the previous year, due to recent law changes. There were 43,128 video gambling machines operating across 7,967 establishments in June 2022.
The state collected $140 million from casinos.

Illinois collected $142 million in sports betting and $7 million from horse racing last year. Bingo, raffles, and pull tabs generated $4 million for the state.
