IGT to upgrade Alberta's video lottery terminal central system
nternational Game Technology(IGT)announced Monday that its subsidiary, IGT Canada Solutions ULC has signed a five-year contract extension with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) to deliver an enhanced version of its INTELLIGEN systems software and continue to be the AGLC’s central systems provider.
Under the terms of this new agreement, IGT will upgrade AGLC’s video lottery central system to the latest version of INTELLIGEN, which includes improved network diagnostics and stability. AGLC will also receive several iLINK Ultras, IGT’s latest retailer site controller that has a separate point-of-sale device and logic box for increased flexibility, and an updated user interface with improved features for the retailer.
IGT’s INTELLIGEN systems are deployed worldwide, connecting a range of VLTs in a variety of gaming environments. The software is built on more than 25 years of central system experience and offers “stable, secure command and control capabilities”, as described by the company.
It supports the Gaming Standards Association’s Game to System (G2S) standard protocol, which enables an enhanced player user interface, improved responsible gaming features, multi-level jackpots and additional player-centric functionality.
In addition to VLTs and the INTELLIGEN central system, IGT also provides AGLC with commercial casino cabinets and games as well as IGT PlayDigital PlayCasino games. AGLC has been an IGT customer since 2003.
In an official press release, Nick Khin, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Gaming, spoke about this partnership and said: “IGT’s INTELLIGEN systems software supports the volume, complexity and security of monitoring video lottery terminals throughout Alberta. As the leader in the regulated video lottery industry with more G2S deployments and specific VLT features than any other vendor, IGT developed its INTELLIGEN system to respond to the unique needs of its customers. AGLC will receive the most advanced updates INTELLIGEN has to offer, allowing them access to quick insight into the status of their entire VLT network."
