Hawaiian visitor wins $1.1M jackpot during Easter weekend visit to Las Vegas casino
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Spending an Easter weekend in Las Vegas will be one a visitor from Hawaii will likely remember forever.
The Hawaiian guest, who was staying and playing at the California Hotel & Casino, hit a large jackpot while playing the Wheel of Fortune machine. The lucky guest was wagering $10 per spin and got a bonus round spin that led to winning the progressive jackpot of $1,172,262 on Saturday, March 30, according to a news release.
The winner was not identified but appeared to be standing behind the check when the presentation was done.
The California — owned by Boyd Gaming Corporation — is a popular spot for Hawaiian visitors who often refer to Las Vegas as the Ninth Island.
