GTA Online Casino Heist Update Adds New Diamond Reward Potential

The Diamond Casino Heist serves as the cornerstone of Grand Theft Auto Online's latest weekly update, adding in double rewards, triple rewards, and rumors of a new diamond vault. Rockstar Games unleashed the Diamond Casino Heist content update in mid-December of 2019, tasking players with infiltrating the Diamond Casino & Resort that had been taken over by the Duggan Crime Family.

A family of Texan petrochemical magnates, the Duggans seized control of the casino from former proprietors Tao Cheng and the Triads. The original owners naturally wanted to bring the corrupt family to its knees, which is how players entered the picture. With help from master hacker Lester Crest, the Cheng family's holdings company and the protagonist partnered with one another to execute an elaborate heist of epic proportions. Now it seems yet another diamond vault may be ripe for the picking.

A Rockstar Newswire post notes that word from within the Diamond Casino indicates a diamond delivery could flush the vault with new riches this week. Players must determine the legitimacy of the claim for themselves by scouting the vault. The weekly update offers a more honorable way of making extra cash from the casino, as well. From now until April 28, anyone who completes Casino Work for Agatha Baker can expect to receive triple the usual in-game cash and RP. A couple of the errands Baker wants players to run around Los Santos include chauffeuring the casino's VIP guests and fighting off mercenaries. On the other hand, all of the Rockstar Games-created Stunt Races rewards players with double money and RP from now until April 28.

Arguably, the potential diamond heist may among the most intriguing weekly update additions for GTA Online in quite a while. That players must scout the casino means that whatever prize awaits, if there's a prize at all, will not come easy. Such an update could be the motivation some fans need to jump back into the experience.

The last major update for Grand Theft Auto Online, the Cayo Perico Heist, went live back in December. Most notably, this particular content drop introduced an exotic heist location, submarine HQ, new weapons, guest DJs, and additional social spaces. If and when Rockstar plans to deploy another update of this caliber is not yet known.
