Grand opening of the Castle Casino in Vaduz
Liechtenstein opened a new casino called Castle Casino in Vaduz over the weekend.
Gambling in Liechtenstein has been legal since 2010. In the past few years, Liechtensburg has opened 5 casinos. The total number of casinos in the country has declined from 6 to 4 recently, but the opening of the Castle Casino in Vaduz brought the number back to 5.
Castle Casino in Vaduz obtained a casino license from the Lichtenstein gambling regulator on December 14, 2022. It offers a wide selection of games on two floors, with 120 slot machines, 8 gaming tables and the longest bar in Liechtensteins.
Castle Casino is the first casino in Liechtensteiner funded by Liechtensburgers. It is operated by Michael Moosleithner and Thomas Banzer.
There is a large opposition to Liechtenstein having casinos. A referendum will be held on January 29, 2023 to decide the fate of casinos in the country. The Liechtensian gambling regulator will not accept any new casino applications until December 31, 2025.
