Governor should know online gambling is brutal: PMK
CHENNAI: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday said that "48 people have lost their lives due to online gambling" in Tamil Nadu and that governor R N Ravi should understand the brutal nature of it.
Anbumani, in Twitter, urged the governor to not postpone further the assent to the bill banning online gambling. "The governor should understand how brutal online gambling is. He should not delay giving assent to the bill even by a day," he said.
Recalling the death of Ravichandran from Thiruverumbur in Trichy district who got addicted to online rummy for the second time after his mother cleared his debt of 7 lakh, Anbumani said it was a classic example of how addictive online rummy is.
Recently, Ravichandran from Thiruverumbur committed suicide due to debts incurred by playing online rummy.
