Golden Nugget Danville Casino is finally open! Many city officials, various state representatives, and a range of casino executives were invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held to celebrate the official grand opening of the long-awaited casino.
Huge building with many amenities:
The casino is located across 41.500 square feet of gaming floor. It consists of 14 table games, 500 slot machines, a Sportsbook, two exquisite restaurants, including a popular Saltgrass Steakhouse, as well as 650 surface parking spaces.
After the temporary casino, which was operating under the license issued by the Illinois Gaming Board in May 2023, the permanent casino finally opened its door. Along with the land-based casino, Golden Nugget will offer its sports betting platform, using its Golden Nugget Online Gaming. The platform is controlled by Tilman Fertitta, who is, together with Golden Nugget, owner of the platform and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The platform was launched two months ago and is currently in its soft phase.
The Illinois casino’s developer and owner, Wilmorite Construction and Fertitta Entertainment commissioned the famous F.A. Wilhelm Construction from Indianapolis in Indiana and KDG architectural company from St Louis in Missouri to project and build the whole new casino building. In the past 11 months, while the casino was under construction, this project provided with construction jobs, so even before the opening, it was beneficial for the people in the area.
The excitement at the end of the huge project:
A President of Danville Development, Jimmy Wilmot, commented on the grand opening. He said that the opening day was exciting and highlighted the first casino promos that can get some great prizes to the players. Apart from a huge jackpot that could be won, there were many other prizes that the guests had an opportunity to win. As Wilmot stated, the casino hadn’t had the legal ability to offer such prizes before, so this was a huge step for the casino and the company – and it’s no wonder everyone is excited!
Rickey Williams Jr, a Mayor, is also very excited about the opening and everything it will bring to the city. He stated that it was a big day for the City of Danville. After thirty years of planning and construction, the mayor claims he’s very excited that this project came to life while he was on the watch.
