Four Winds South Bend joins the 'Big Leagues' of gaming
Four Winds South Bend introduced Class III gaming technology to its casino floor. The new technology is a significant step forward for a region that is evolving into a genuine destination. Native American tribes are permitted to conduct Class 3 gambling only if they negotiate compacts with the governments of the individual states in which they are located. The others are restricted to Class II. Slot machines were developed to play electronic bingo games. They are now available at the Southbend location. It is the first time that the technology has been approved by the federal and Indiana state governments.
The table game inventory at Four Winds South Bend now includes 16 tables, including blackjack baccarat, craps, roulette, Bonus Spin Criss Cross Poker, progressive stud, and Aruze Roll to Win Craps. The complete conversion of all 1,400 slots on the gaming floor at Southbend will take several months. William B’s Steakhouse among a few Northwest Indiana restaurants to receive the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. It is the sixth consecutive year that the fine dining establishment has received the honor.
