RALEIGH – Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced four big wins in North Carolina including two prizes of $50,000, one $100,000 prize, and a fourth prize of $1 million.

The lucky $1 million winner purchased the ticket in Lenoir County through Online Play, winning the largest prize nationally in the drawing. The $2 ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls to win the $1 million prize. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 11.6 million.

The $100,000 winner purchased the lucky ticket in Davidson County through Online Play. The $3 ticket matched four of the white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000, but since it was a Power Play ticket the prize was doubled when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The drawing also produced two $50,000 wins in North Carolina. Those $2 tickets were purchased at the Circle K on Wilmington Highway in Jacksonville and the Gold Star E on Lobelia Road in Vass in Moore County.

The winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Since no one won Wednesday’s jackpot, the Powerball jackpot climbs to $172 million as an annuity prize or $117.3 million cash for Saturday’s drawing. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Ticket sales from draw games make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million a year for education. For details on how money raised by the lottery made a difference in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties last year, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.
