Fireworks, stars light up Las Vegas on New Year's Eve: Travel Weekly
Las Vegas Events and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority revealed their plans for "America's Party 2022," co-produced by Fireworks by Grucci. This year's theme is "Deuces Wild," to herald 2022.
In addition to Resorts World, properties participating in the pyrotechnics are MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Aria Resort & Casino, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Treasure Island (TI) Hotel & Casino; the Venetian Resort Las Vegas; and the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod.
The Strip will be closed to motor vehicle traffic beginning about 6 p.m. Dec. 31 until the early-morning hours.
The Las Vegas Monorail will operate for 44 straight hours from 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2. Regularly priced tickets are $5 for a single ride, with unlimited-ride passes available for 24 hours, two days, three days and more beginning at $13. It will offer a discount of $3 off the price of three-day unlimited ride passes when purchased now through Dec. 30.
Among the many scheduled performers on the Strip are Usher at Caesars Palace, Bruno Mars at Park MGM, Katy Perry at the Resorts World Theatre, David Lee Roth at House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay and Kristin Chenoweth at the Smith Center.
The traditional Strip-wide fireworks celebration, which typically draws more than 300,000 tourists to the city, was canceled last year because of concerns about mass gatherings amid the pandemic.
"Aside from last year, 'America's Party' has been the culminating event of the entire year for more than 20 years," said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. "Being able to host this event again is so special because it allows us to close out the year in a memorable way."
