The NHL is one of the most prominent brands on the planet and very much the home of ice hockey. BetMGM recently announced, a brand that falls under the prestigious Entain banner, who also own leading online casino PartyCasino, that it’s they who are taking up the mantle and launching an array of NHL-branded casino games that will incorporate favourites such as baccarat, blackjack, roulette and live game Dream Catcher, with the content playable in New Jersey, Ontario, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
BetMGM have tasked leading software developers Evolution Gaming, who are the creators of Dream Catcher, to bring to life the branded casino games. Evolution Gaming are renowned for being the top dog when it comes to producing live casino content, which shows that BetMGM means business.
After the announcement, Oliver Bartlett, Director of Gaming at BetMGM, said, “The launch of these one-of-a-kind games further strengthens our relationship with the NHL.
“As the season approaches, we’re thrilled that our players will have the ability to ‘drop the puck’ with BetMGM,” he added.
Creating an immersive experience has been one of the key goals for BetMGM and Evolution Gaming, and they deliver on this through three-dimensional renderings and animations. A ‘go live’ button in the games will take players out onto the ice to enjoy some live casino action that takes place inside an arena adorned with both NHL and team logos.
In NHL Blackjack, players will be seated at a table inside an arena skybox, but they will be able to move between seats virtually. NHL roulette provides realistic ball movements alongside interactive results and statistics. NHL Baccarat takes up the traditional guise of a live casino game, with all features in tow. While Dream Catcher works in a similar way to Wheel of Fortune, the hit TV game show that it takes inspiration from.

It’s a key focus for the brand, and they insist they are “proud to provide resources to help customers play responsibly, including GameSense, an industry-leading program, developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.” GameSense is available to access and download across all platforms, including both desktop and mobile, with apps available for both iOS and Android devices.
