EuroMillions results: Winning lottery numbers for huge £170m mega jackpot
A whopping £170million super jackpot is up for grabs in tonight's EuroMillions draw.
The winning EuroMillions numbers are 6, 18, 24, 34, 46 and the Lucky Stars are 3 and 12.
Tonight's Thunderball numbers, meanwhile, are 9, 10, 18, 24, 35 and the Thunderball is 6.
For tonight's massive jackpot, which marked the 1,542nd EuroMillions draw, the National Lottery revealed the weird and wonderful places millionaire winners hide their tickets.
Having paid out nearly £3billion in major prizes, Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners Advisor at The National Lottery, has seen every hiding place possible.
“I have seen all sorts of hiding places, some people like to keep the ticket on their person the entire time, some people have hidden it in a snake tank and some people have popped it under a rug - during Covid when we weren’t allowed to go into winners houses, people were hiding them under garden gnomes!" he said.
“One place we would encourage any players not to hide their tickets is anywhere warm. This includes under a hot laptop, in an oven (in case you turn it on!) or under an iron. I once had a winner iron their ticket attempting to remove the crinkles in their winning pink ticket but heat will actually turn the ticket black!
“Wherever you decide to hide your ticket, the most important thing is to sign the back of the ticket or Scratchcard as soon as you have the win confirmed. Or you can always play online, which means you have no fear of losing a winning ticket! My team and I have our fingers crossed for all UK players and are on standby to support all our big winners as they start their life-changing journey.”
Players can check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk, as well as in retail stores.
Playing online via the app or website means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.
In May, Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, were announced the winners of the record £184million EuroMillions jackpot.
The couple became Britain's biggest ever lottery winners and the first thing they bought was a £38,000 grey Volvo estate.
The couple previously explained that they didn't want to hide their win from loved ones so decided to go public.
“I don’t want to lie to family and friends, I want to enjoy it with them," said Jess.
“Maybe, naively, I thought we could tell a few people and it would be fine. But the list gets longer and soon you realise it would be a burden asking them to keep it quiet. Telling people makes it easier.”
