The gambling industry in Pennsylvania posted a $2.6 billion year-over-year growth. The previous year's revenue was $4.7 billion. Slot machines generated almost as much revenue as all of 2020. Internet gambling also topped $1 billion, table games close behind at $924.9 million. Sports betting, fantasy sports contests and video gaming terminals also made money.

Gambling is a good thing for Pennsylvania. It's taking disposable income from its patrons. The casinos are contributing to their communities via jobs and the money that circulates back in rent and groceries and gas.
Gambling growth in Pennsylvania is good for the state, but it's not sustainable. People have to pay more for housing, food and fuel, leaving less for slot machines and table games.
