Dubai Authorities: The Emirate Won’t Legalize Gambling
Dubai tourism official Issam Kazim says that legalizing gambling in Dubai is not in the Emirate's plans. Caesars Palace and MGM resorts don't have to provide their casino services in UAE.
Wynn Resorts is planning to open a resort in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. It will be bigger and more luxurious than the one in Las Vegas. The Emirate and Wynn acquired a license to allow gaming in January 2022. However, it's not clear if it will include gambling. The issue will only be resolved in 2023 and onwards.
Dubai operates under Islamic rules, so gambling is illegal in the Emirate. Online gambling at offshore sites is possible, but the laws can't have the same restrictions on foreign-based operators that allow players from Dubai.
