Deadwood Gaming Revenues Up
According to statistics released this week by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s overall gaming revenues were up 0.97 percent over August of 2022, with slot machine handle increasing by 0.80 percent. The table game handle increased by 1.14 percent when compared to 2022 August’s table game handle, and Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was up 94.26 percent when compared to August 2022. Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,696,682 in “free-play” for the month of August, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $14,860,461 for August of 2023.
“August revenue’s slight increase puts our YTD increase up 3.69 percent,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “Sports wagering’s YTD increase is up an exciting 23.04%.
