Chanel Helmet, Slot Machine & Bauble Bag Collection
Chanel is known for many a marvelous creation: it fashioned tweed, orchestrated hurrah for its Boy Bag, and even made the humble shopping basket a coveted haute couture must-have. Now, under the Creative Direction of Virginie Viard, Chanel releases three Minaudiere bags from its Resort 2023 runway show, proving there’s plenty of fun still to be found in the ever-serious high-fashion scene.
“Minaudiere,” a French word for a small, decorative handbag without handles or a strap, is something Chanel is well-versed in. Now, it’s applying the technique to a racing helmet, slot machine, and an aptly-timed festive bauble. Each piece is made from resin, featuring alongside semi-luxurious touches like diamantés, imitation pearl, and gold or silver-toned metal.
For the helmet, Chanel delivers a red number branded with its logo, “CC” emblem, Chanel Cruise and floral motifs, and of course, a racing checkerboard flag. The slot machine is the most hyper-realistic, playing on Chanel No. 5 with the numbers, plenty of House cues, and dozens of intricate details that make the casino staple look almost usable. As for the bauble, it’s classic Chanel, coming with the monogram motif on a checked design.
Considering the accessories are not made from fine materials like real gold or real pearls, it’s almost unfathomable to think that each of these realistic Minaudieres are only available on a price-on-request basis. Take a look at all three above, and find out more online or in your nearest Chanel boutique.
