Casino tycoon Stanley Ho's family could lose concession of Portugal's Casino de Lisboa and Casino do Estoril to rival bidder
Estoril Sol's main shareholder is Stanley Ho's family. The family's stake in Estorils Sol SGPS SA is worth more than the offer from a rival bidder for the concession of Casino de Lisboa and Casino do EstOril. The tender attracted two bids: one from Estorsil's subsidiary and another from an undisclosed suitor.
Estoril Sol's revenue reached €133 million in 2021. Finansol, a holding company controlled by members of the Ho family, owns a 57.8% stake in Estorils Sol. Stanley Ho helped build the Chinese territory of Macau into the world's biggest gambling hub pre-pandemic. He died in 2020 at the age of 98.
