Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities, has launched its annual Christmas tree recycling service – one of its most important fundraisers of the year.
The scheme is sponsored by Waste Management Facilities and supported by Adventure Wonderland and BCP Council, and means that you can have your Christmas tree collected a sustainably disposed of, while knowing that you are also helping to support children across the county.
Slots to have your Christmas tree collected are available on Friday 6 January until Monday 9 January 2023 from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Ringwood.
Fundraising officer Claire Cooper said: “We’re thrilled to see the return of our Treecycling service. It’s one of our most important fundraisers of the year and allows us to raise vital money and truly makes a huge difference in our efforts to continue supporting more than 1,600 children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across the county.”
Collections can be booked online for a suggested £10 donation at diverseabilities.org.uk/trees
Volunteers are also needed to help the Treecycling team to collect and recycle Christmas trees. Families and businesses with access to vans, pickup trucks, or buses should contact Claire on 01202 718266 to discuss how to get involved and help make a difference for the charity.
