Bidding for Macau’s new casino concessions starts today, open until September 14
The Chief Executive’s Order No. 136/2022, published in Thursday’s Gazette, announces the new round of public bidding for casino concessions, and that bids may be submitted from 29 July to 14 September.
A maximum of six concessions will be granted, each for a maximum period of 10 years.
The gazette states, “The public auction will be conducted through a simple open auction, and companies wishing to participate must submit their bids by 5:45 p.m. on 14 September.”
It also provides, “Companies accepted to participate in the bidding must comply with the other conditions stipulated in the bidding proposal and provide a guarantee of not less than MOP10 million”.
According to the Chief Executive’s instructions, in selecting the bidding companies and in evaluating the bids, special consideration should be given to the plan to develop the market for foreign customers (that is, customers from outside greater China), experience in operating casino gaming or related activities, the benefits of gaming and non-gaming investments to the Macau SAR, the plan to manage the casino, the plan to monitor and prevent illegal activities in the casino, and the corporate social responsibilities to be assumed by the bidder.
