When apps launched on Saturday, that didn't make online casinos legal. In 2013, New York voters approved four commercial casinos. This vote legalized commercial casino and sports betting. Online casinos won't be included in the 2021 Gambling Bill.
NY's current laws don't contain provisions for real money casinos. When the apps launch in the early part of 2022, locals 21 years and older won't be able to play slots or blackjack while betting on sport.

The legal gambling age will be 21 or older. Operators will offer online and mobile betting apps. Betting will only be allowed on all sports, except college games involving local teams/athletes. BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, WynnBet, PointsBet and BallyBet have been licensed by the New York State Gaming Commission.
