Appeals Court Dismisses Wrongful Death Suit Brought by Children Whose Parents Were Killed in Las Vegas Casino Fire
The Nevada Court of Appeals has affirmed a decision by the state’s Eighth Judicial District Court to deny a motion to amend a wrongful death complaint filed by children whose parents died in an arson attempt at a casino.
In 2017, an armed attacker set fire to furniture inside the Resorts World Manila in Las Vegas, according to the appeals court’s June 30 opinion. Tung-Tsung Hung and Pi-Ling Lee Hung, patrons of the hotel and casino, hid in their hotel room closet but soon became trapped and died from smoke inhalation.
