Karnataka to ban online gambling

Karnataka Cabinet on Saturday decided to ban online gambling or betting. The ban does not include lottery or bets on horse races. It will be introduced in the coming session of the State legislature beginning on September 13. Kerala and Tamil Nadu have already imposed a ban on online games.

Cabinet approves a proposal of the Karnataka Housing Board to develop a residential layout at Lingapura village in Anekal taluk, Suryanagara second phase. A decision was taken to build a cultural and heritage centre at Veerapur in Magadi taluks of Ramanagaram district. Mini Vidhana Soudhas would be constructed at Molakalmuru in Chitradurga and Kumta in Uttara Kannada district at a cost of ₹10.97 crore and ⁹12.28 crore respectively.
