A stop at the gas station to see a friend led an Iosco County woman to winning a $316,854 Fast Cash Lucky Clover jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The 72-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket April 13 at Sunrise Travel Center, located at 5665 North Huron Road in Oscoda. Oscoda is about 50 miles south of Alpena.

“I like playing Fast Cash and all Lottery games,” said the player. “A friend of mine works at the gas station, so I stopped in one day to see him. While I was there, I told him to get me a Fast Cash ticket.

“I looked the ticket over and saw I had all 18 numbers, so I scanned it and got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office. I had my friend scan it, and that’s when he told me I’d won big. I was extremely shocked and excited! It still feels unreal.”

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. She plans to save her winnings.
